Frequently asked questions

How ClickFrame works, in plain terms.

How does ClickFrame know which video a click came from?

ClickFrame encodes the source video into the short link at the moment you create it, so attribution is deterministic. It does not rely on the referrer — YouTube strips outbound referrers down to youtube.com, which is exactly why per-video attribution is impossible with a normal link. Because the video is baked into the link itself, every click is tied back to the right video regardless of the viewer's browser or app.

Will ClickFrame links slow things down for my viewers?

No. A ClickFrame link opens just as fast as a regular URL. Clicks are handled at the edge — the network location nearest the viewer — and redirect in well under a tenth of a second. The work of recording the click happens afterward, off the path the viewer waits on, so they never stare at a loading screen.

Do my links keep working if I change where they point?

Yes. The short link is permanent, but the destination behind it is editable. Change a destination once in your dashboard and every link pointing to it updates instantly — viewers never hit a dead end. A link you put in a video description today will keep resolving indefinitely.

Does ClickFrame change my YouTube description?

Yes — with your permission, and only the part you choose. When you wrap a video, ClickFrame inserts the short link into that video's description for you in one click. You connect your channel with Google sign-in; ClickFrame reads your video list and updates descriptions you ask it to, and nothing else.

What data do you collect about my viewers?

Only what you need to understand your audience, and nothing that identifies a person. ClickFrame does not store IP addresses or browser fingerprints. It records the device type and a rough location (country and region), and that is all. Your viewers' privacy stays intact.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You can connect your channel, create links, and see your click analytics without entering any payment information. Sign in with the Google account on your YouTube channel and you can add your first link in minutes.

What happens to my links if I stop using ClickFrame?

You stay in control of your data. You can export your click history and destinations at any time, and you can delete your account from the studio. Deletion removes your data on a scheduled basis after a short grace window — see the Privacy and Security pages for the specifics.
